How are Groups Composed? We encourage parent involvement. At the end of each group parents will be provided an overview of the social skill lessons and/or activities that were covered during group. The overview will also include ways in which parents can reinforce the skills at home. When Can I Expect To See Results? Each child is different and results will vary depending on your child’s needs and severity of his/her disability. When your child's session is complete the group facilitator will assess your his/her progress to determine whether further treatment should be considered.
After a brief phone intake is conducted, the group facilitator will place your child in a group that will meet his/her social-communication and/or social-emotional needs. Group size will not exceed 6 and children will be placed in groups with those close to their own age and stage of social-emotional development.
How Can Parents Get Involved?
Will the Group Facilitator Become Involved With My Child's School?
With proper releases signed, your group facilitator will be happy to contact your child’s teachers, school social worker or principal to discuss his/her social-communication and.or social-emotional needs in more detail. Your group facilitator is also willing to accompany you to school meetings. Please ask about the fees related to these services.
