Socially Savvy Social Skills Training and Enhancement Groups are designed to meet the needs of children between the ages of 5-15 with social-communication difficulties. Socially Savvy provides your child with a small, intimate environment where he/she can learn and practice new social skills as well as enhance already existing skills.
Groups are facilitated by a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has extensive experience working with children with social-communication difficulties in both school and private settings. Socially Savvy groups are generally broken down into two segments. During the first half of the group children are presented with a structured, yet fun activity to help teach group members needed social skills. The second half of the group is less structured and children are asked to engage in more cooperative play allowing them to utilize newly acquired skills and enhance existing skills.
Socially Savvy groups meet once a week for 12 weeks and are 1 hour in duration. Children are asked to attend all 12 sessions as group relationships are an essential part of the learning process.
